Damn, this surprise drop is honestly so good. I've been a Swiftie since the old days, all the way back to Teardrops on My Guitar, but to be completely honest... I haven't fully enjoyed all of her albums for a while now. Although I've liked a few of her songs that she's dropped over the past several years, the last album I enjoyed from start to finish was 1989. And that was released in 2014! Like, holy crap, time flies. It's been 6 damn years.
But yeah, folklore blew me out of the water, this album is amazing. Great songs, great vibes, great sound. I really love every song on this album, so I guess quarantine has turned out to produce some great things in life. I'm starting to think I just prefer her non-pop songs more than her pop songs. Even though I'm mostly a pop listener... who knows? This alternative sound though? Chef's kiss. Anyway, everyone should go enjoy it since it's out now, including the music video (although I'll admit I haven't watched it yet)!
Go crack open a book, start a puzzle, draw, paint, relax, whatever! This album is good for all of the above and more. It's a nice little break from the chaotic world outside that's suffering from this pandemic (not that the USA government or citizens are doing much to control it at this point...). Happy thoughts only! By listening to the album. Trust.
