Watched the full video of what happened to George Floyd last night... and I'm speechless. I absolutely recommend everyone to watch it - policy brutality is not a light matter. I do understand if the video is triggering though, and don't force it upon anyone. Despite its graphic contents, this is one of many videos in which police unfairly discriminate against those of color. How can one be so clueless as to what is going on?

How can you idly stand by as you watch your police partner literally murder someone? Did you not learn anatomy when you were in school? Do you have the IQ of a piece of wood? This man was literally using his full body weight to kneel on someone's neck, potentially (and most likely) completely cutting off air circulation, and then had the audacity to blame the death on drugs? When the usage of drugs wasn't even actually confirmed? And this man didn't even look like he was afraid of being attacked by the man. He looked like he was genuinely enjoying the power he felt from rendering someone unconscious by suffocating him.

Yes, I might have understood if George seemed like a threat to the police officers. However, the call dialed to the police wasn't about this man pulling out a gun or anything, it was for potentially writing a bad check. George himself said he couldn't breathe multiple times, that he was in pain, and nothing was done. These officers just ignored his pleas. And after going completely unconscious for several minutes, they still refused to get up or even check his pulse. This man was not moving at all!! What was the harm in checking his pulse for bystanders to confirm he was alive? It's like they knew he was dead and didn't want to admit to it in public. Children witnessed this horror.

How can one expect the general public to trust the police after seeing such violence against an otherwise innocent man? Please, be a little more self-conscious of your actions. Just because you have the power does not entitle you to use it. Stop being suspicious based on racism, whether conscious or unconscious, and educate yourself. There's no need for such violence against a weaponless person.

If lawyers require several years worth of education to practice it, why do police officers only get weeks' worth of academy training to enforce it? The disproportion just seems baffling to me.
