I have taken a few days from writing blog posts because I needed time to collect my thoughts on everything happening around the world recently. It is incredibly depressing to go on any social media, only to find more and more people being hurt by those who were hired to protect them.

I cannot believe that this is the world we still currently live in, and how little our society has progressed over the course of several hundred years. I don't understand how there can be so much controversy over what I find to be a very obvious - racism is terrible. Why are people arguing about this? How can people even say it doesn't exist or apply to us if statistics themselves show that it clearly is prevalent in our society?

For a country that prides itself in freedom, a large portion of the population sure doesn't have the same kind of freedom that we Americans brag about constantly. It honestly shocks me to my core that our education system is so fucked up that people aren't aware of themselves being racist or racially tone-deaf.

To all the police officers who think it's completely okay to terrify the citizens trying to protest, beating them with batons, pepper spraying their faces, tear gassing - what the fuck? What are you trying to prove? Are you so insecure in yourself that you have to take it out on children and defenseless protesters? Can't you already see the divide in our country?

For those who keep saying "aLl LiVeS MatTer". Can you not? This movement isn't about you, nor is it saying that your life doesn't matter as much as Black lives do. It is simply drawing attention to the race that has experienced discrimination and violence beyond any other race in this country. If you are not aware of USA's history, go read it. There are plenty of resources out there to educate you. And if you think ignorance is bliss, you're part of the problem.

The amount of posts I see that imply they are racists is ridiculous. Are you actually not aware that you're discriminating against the race the entire world is trying to fight for? Stop being so selfish, and open your mind and eyes.

To those who are constantly badgering celebrities to "open their purses/wallets" - chill out a little. Spend your time educating yourself and others, signing petitions, and donating. Stop calling out people who aren't posting on their social media - you don't know what's going on in their lives, nor do you know what they are doing behind the scenes. I understand that gaining support from big celebrities and whatnot will raise awareness, but it's not worth spending all your effort bringing down another human just because they didn't post. They are not obligated to post all their donations. Stay away from the "pics or it didn't happen" mentality. It's toxic and the world already has enough of it. As for the celebrities who are actively protesting and playing their part, we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Overall, this post is not to produce more hate or controversy. It is to clarify that #BlackLivesMatter is an extremely important movement that everyone should educate themselves on and take a part in, regardless of race. We are one race - the human race. Stop tearing each other down. There are evil humans and good ones - don't let the evil ones take over.
